Guy Brigg MBE

Guy is an ILM 7 qualified coach and certified Myers-Briggs®  Step 1 and 2 Personality Type Practitioner with a background of thirty years’ experience working in primary education.

In his role as Deputy Headteacher and latterly Headteacher, he helped lead his school through three successful OFSTED inspections, as well as establishing them as a leading example in performing arts education in Oxfordshire. Guy has extensive experience managing teaching and support staff as well as a highly successful track record in maintaining outstanding attainment and achievement through his teaching. In addition to his school role, Guy has worked as an assessor for Arts Council England supporting schools in their applications for Arts Mark accreditation.

Guy is the Resident Creative Director & Choreographer of the Musical Youth Company of Oxford, which is an award-winning youth arts organisation who perform annually at the Oxford Playhouse and have alumni working all over the West End.

Guy has written and delivered his own training package to support LGBT+ young people and their families. This has included providing training for teaching as well as multi-agency staff in making settings more LGBT+ inclusive and also challenging homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying in all its forms. He has also worked closely with representatives from Oxfordshire County Council and the OSCB helping them to deliver diversity and equality training to representatives from different agencies. Since then, Guy has developed bespoke packages for a variety of organisations helping them to consider how they can develop their own work around EDI and creating safe spaces for people with protected characteristics.

In 2017, Guy was honoured to be made an MBE for services to education and community in the New Year’s Honours list. His work in theatre, education, theatre arts and equality were all heavily cited.

Guy believes in the power of coaching to help individuals and organisations achieve their full potential through the art of guided conversations, self-reflection, careful questioning and appropriate challenge. He supports his clients to identify realistic and achievable steps to help them work towards their goals and to clarify their thinking around workplace challenges. He sees coaching and the quality of thinking that individuals do within different settings as essential to helping build an empowered, harmonious and productive workforce.
